Technical Sales Engineer

Salary: £28,000 + £5,000 on target bonus plan and excellent company benefits
One of the most revered names in English horology is currently looking to recruit an experienced Sales Engineer. Established over 150 years ago, the company is an expert creator of bespoke and standard architectural clocks, caring for over 5000 of the world’s iconic and public clocks.
They have grown significantly over the last few years – in part because of the increase in luxury and iconic buildings across the work that incorporates a clock as part of their design. This growth has resulted in the need to recruit an experienced Sales Engineer. Their Sales Engineers are customer-focused, technical sales professionals, who provide a high level of customer service to a diverse range of clients and prospects from architects and designers to ecclesiastical staff and the general public. Your key role will be to develop appropriate customer solutions for both new architectural clocks and associated products and for the refurbishment and repair of heritage mechanical clocks.
You will take complete responsibility for the lifecycle of an enquiry through the full process to order and completion, achieving individual set targets whilst also being a dynamic team player. You will act in a consultative fashion and will become an expert in time solutions from the world’s greatest time provider.
The ideal candidate for the role will be a pragmatic Sales Engineer. You will have experience in similar sales roles with a proven track record of success. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Ideally, mechanical clock movements (although clock training will be provided)
- Lead generation and prospecting
- Conducting site surveys and meetings
- Possess fault finding/trouble shooting skills
- Preparing job costing quotations
- Written proposals and submissions and follow-up
The role requires 1 or 2 days a week out of the office for site meetings, surveys and inspections, therefore a clean driving licence is essential and willingness to stay away perhaps one evening per week.
