Area Manager – Food-to-Go Retailer / QSR

£28,000 to £30,000 basic salary plus car and excellent benefits (including pension, health insurance, profit share)
Location: North London and Essex

We’re looking for an Area Manager to work in the North London and Essex regions for one of the UK’s leading and most well known food-to-go retailers.

This role will cover a minimum of 9 shops in these regions. You must have previous experience, preferably within a food-to-go retailer (such as Subway, Costa Coffee, Pret A Manger, McDonalds, etc), but other fast-moving retailers may be considered – please do not apply if you have not as your application will not be considered.

Within the role you will be primarily responsible for driving retail performance of the shops in your area, by effectively managing the various Shop Management teams in order to maximise profitability, efficiency and customer service.

In addition you will develop and implement individual shop operation plans, regularly reviewing shop performance with individual shop managers to ensure agreed levels of sales growth. You’ll also be responsible for promoting brand excellence across shop management teams driving forward initiatives to improve standards. In fact, you’ll act as a brand champion across the shop network.

You’ll be responsible for recruiting, managing, motivating and developing shop management teams, and you will have a direct responsibility for planning and controlling shop manning rotas in line with agreed costs and budgets. With that in mind, you’ll monitor key cost areas and take relevant action to challenge any variances that may arise.

The successful candidate will:

- Possess managerial experience – preferable at Area / multi-site level but single site may be ok if it was for a large unit.
- Have worked within the ‘food to go’ or QSR industry (this could be from a ‘fast food’ or takeaway sandwich / snack retailer)
- Be able to demonstrate excellent communication, rapport building and organisational skills
- Have a food hygiene certificate - please indicate on your CV whether or not you possess one.
- Be an experienced and decisive manager, capable of making confident, important decisions and with the ability to motivate and get results through your team
