A leading international provider of public sector services is currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to help drive new business for the Employability and Skills division of the organisation.
The company’s service delivery, advisory and technology solutions help improve the quality and effectiveness of education, health and government services across the UK. You would be joining a market-leading business at a fantastic time in their development.
The main remit of the role is to develop and grow new business and meet annual sales and profit targets. Within the role you’ll identify new market opportunities based on sound research, sector knowledge and a solid understanding of current UK and International market drivers. Furthermore, you will establish a series of strategic partners and supply chains to help generate business growth opportunities. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with existing accounts to identify new business opportunities, selling in new products/services.
In addition, you will help develop sales and marketing literature as well as produce business cases for product/service development, using financial models to establish accurate pricing and return on investment. You’ll also be responsible for leading the bid team in responding to tender invitations so previous experience in this area is vital. Finally, you will contribute towards annual and quarterly financial forecasting, to aid the business in assessing its financial position.
We’re looking for a highly organised individual with excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, who has a very strong knowledge and experience of working in the lifelong learning sector. An understanding of workforce development, employability and careers information, advice and guidance would be very beneficial.
It goes without saying that you will be a new business expert, and you will be highly versed in creating profitable, deliverable solutions and establishing business cases including return on investment. As mentioned earlier, experience of leading large successful bid teams would be advantageous.
