Job Title: 3rd Line Support Engineer

Location: Telford, Shropshire

Salary: £26,000 to £30,000

Benefits: 20% Shift uplift, Bonus, Pension, Healthcare, Over Time.

The Role

You will work within an existing team supporting a state of the art technical infrastructure used for delivery of managed solutions to the company’s client base.

You will support a range of technologies including:

Windows Server 2012 r2, Active Directory including Group Policy, VMWare, Exchange 2010, Office 2007 through to 2013 and Citrix Presentation Server. Any Linux or SQL experience will be a big plus, although this is desirable.

You will love everything to do with IT and how it works as you will be expected to understand a wide range of different infrastructure set-ups with multiple clients.

The role will develop as the company grows as they are experiencing a fast pace of expansion.

Key Experience Required

You will be an experienced 3rd Line/ Server Support Engineer with a very strong technical understanding of following skills/attributes:

  • Advanced Windows 2012 Server administration/ configuration/ troubleshooting
  • Strong Active Directory knowledge – including Group Policy
  • Knowledge of VMware
  • MS Exchange 2010 troubleshooting and configuration
  • Third party software Support, troubleshooting, installation and maintenance.

Desirable Skills;

  • Remote support of users in a Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 and XenApp 6.5 environment.
  • Linux
  • SQL

You will be looking for a role where you can get technically involved with clients in a highly supportive and friendly environment.

This role involves 24/7 support and will involve shift work. The shift Rota is 4 on / 4 off, which will alternate between days and nights. This also covers weekends and bank holidays (time in lieu given to cover).

The shift cover carries 20% uplift on the agreed salary.
