One of the UK’s leading independent professional services companies is currently looking to recruit Supervisors for their Audit team and for their Accounting & Business Advisory team, both based out of their Stoke-on-Trent office. As Accounting & Business Advisory Supervisor you would be responsible for the preparation of accounts for clients at all levels, from large corporates to SMEs, financial projections, and completing management accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis. You will be required to profitably deliver work across a portfolio of clients, supervising a team responsible for ensuring the highest possible standards of client service at all times and taking an active role in the growth of the office through identification of opportunities and involvement in the business development process.
The Audit team are responsible for planning and completing the auditing of statutory accounts to a consistently high standard, ensuring clients receive a consistently high quality service in all aspects. As Supervisor you will ensure all work carried out is in compliance with government legislation, supervising and guiding the team and ensuring client and statutory deadlines are routinely met and exceeded. You will work closely with the Audit Manager in investigating all audit issues, ensuring appropriate consideration is given to audit risk and accounting technical matters and arriving at suitable proposals or solutions.
The ideal candidate for the roles will come from a solid accountancy background. Practice experience is preferred as the ability to deal with a number of different clients and assignments simultaneously will be required. ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification /part-qualifcation would be preferred however consideration will be given to candidates who are qualified by experience. You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of accounting and auditing standards (IFRS, FRSME, UK GAP), plus knowledge of audit, accounts and tax software. Experience of group consolidated accounts and FRS102 knowledge will also be required.
