Learning Disabilities Service

Salary: £6.50 per hour + benefits and progression opportunities

Location: Wakefield

We are currently working with a client who is looking for a part time activities co-ordinator to work with service users in their 5 bedded residential service supporting adults with learning disabilities who display behaviours that challenge.

The position:

The role involves all aspects ensuring that the service users have access to a range of activities to enhance their daily lives. Service users are encouraged to live as independently as possible and the organisation have a skilled workforce with a shared commitment to improve the lives of their service users. The activities co-ordinator will be a pivotal part of the team.

There are many duties involved in the role of Home Manager including:

  • Organising activities for service users
  • Encouraging service users to participate in activities
  • Devising and implanting fun and appropriate activities
  • Empowering service users to live as independently as possible
  • Working as part of a committed team

The person:

The successful candidate will be an experienced Activities Co-ordinator and ideally you will have worked with service users with learning disabilities and/ or challenging behaviour. You will be creative and able to come up with new and exciting ideas to keep the service users entertained and you will encourage participation.

This position will be suitable for: Activities Co-ordinator, support worker, care assistant, teaching assistant, classroom assistant, playgroup leader
