The UK’s leading supplier of advice, products and services for the rural community are currently looking to recruit an Agricultural Specialist for their Crewkerne store in Somerset. Reporting to the Store Manager, you would be tasked with providing an excellent standard of customer service to all customers, in particular within the farmer and small holder department. You would be expected to act as an ambassador within the store for your department.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident AMTRA-qualified individual to put their knowledge and expertise to use within a dynamic market leading business. You would play an important role in growing the store’s profitability through providing excellent customer service as well as supporting colleagues in an effort to develop product expertise.
You would be expected to monitor competitor activity as well as product developments, and develop and manage relevant in-store campaigns and farmer/smallholder events and promotions to increase revenue and profitability. You would be tasked with assisting the Store Manager to ensure compliance with store policies and procedures, HR policies and relevant legal requirements, including the AMTRA code of practice, as well as monitoring stock availability and merchandising displays.
The ideal candidate for the role will be an accomplished retail professional with significant experience providing a high standard of customer service within Agricultural/Farm stores. You must be able to demonstrate an affinity with the rural community, basic nutritional knowledge (animal and crop) while AMTRA qualification would also be an advantage.
You will have excellent organisational skills as well as the ability to use your initiative, plus exceptional communication and IT skills. You will need strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work equally effectively alone and as part of a team. You will be committed to delivering first-rate levels of service at all times.
