The Area Manager role involves managing and developing a service for people and their carers within the community. You will also oversee the Locality Managers/ Care Coordinators who in turn manage the care teams. This is an excellent opportunity to join a charitable organisation with an excellent reputation and to become an integral part of their senior management team. The role is exciting and varied and no two days are the same. The main duties of the role are:
• Networking with local organisations to promote the service
• Trouble shooting and dealing with issues that may arise
• Mentoring and training managers
• Chairing and attending meetings
• Working with commissioners
The successful Area Manager will hold or be working towards an NVQ Level 5 or equivalent and will have a sound understanding of domiciliary care/ support work. You must be comfortable negotiating with outside agencies and be able to multi task. You must have significant experience of managing dispersed teams and working in partnership with other agencies in a social care setting, along with an understanding of the social care market and up to date knowledge of the carer’s agenda and legislation. You will need to have access to a vehicle as the role will require travel around the South Buckinghamshire area.
The Area Manager role is based in a well-established charitable organisation with an excellent ethos that provides a range of care services to adults and children in community and home based settings. They support service users with a range of needs including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, dementia and end of life care.
