As a result of recent expansion, an established construction company seeks to recruit a permanent Area Quantity Surveyor based in Essex for new build and refurbishment construction projects across the UK
Your role as an area quantity surveyor sees you tasked with the surveying and commercial activities for a number of sites. The projects are refurbishment, fit-out and new build construction. These include the commercial, leisure, health care,housing and rail sectors.
Reporting to the area surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all costs for the projects from pre-contract through to final accounts. You will have a high level of understanding of appropriate costs ,standards and specifications ensuring that financial documentation is accurate and on time.
The role will require agreeing interim payment applications and final accounts, as well as maintaining a good cash flow and timely receipt of payments from the employer. You will provide support for any dispute resolutions to the area surveyor and do monthly cost/value analysis and end cost/value forecasts.
The projects will be across the UK predominantly in London and Essex with values ranging from £0.5m to £6 million and will be up to 6 projects at any one time.
The successful candidate will have experience in a Quantity Surveyor or QS role or similar commercial cost management role covering multiple sites – ideally from within the construction sector. It is desirable to have a Quantity Surveying Degree or RICs qualification but this is not essential.
Established for nearly 150 years with experience in new build, refurbishment and modernisation projects on a National basis across the UK. They deliver both on partnering and traditional forms of contract and cover all sectors within construction.
