Are you an incredibly talented salesperson who’s sold to industrial distributors or end users?
Are you fed up with a limited product range, no innovation, no support or no autonomy, and you want a new challenge in a dynamic, enjoyable environment?
If so, then you could be right for us. We’re looking to immediately recruit our next highly experienced salesperson to join us as a Business Development Manager.
This a fantastic opportunity to join a huge international tool manufacturer that has the support of a global corporate parent company, whilst retaining a ‘family’ feel in our UK operation. Autonomy and responsibility are not just words on our job description, they are what drive the business and makes us as successful as we are.
The Business Development Manager will be based from home with responsibility for the south and east regions of the UK. You will manage a number of independent and regional tool distributors – many of these have an existing trading relationship, some will be new.
However this is not just a ‘sell via deals from the catalogue’ role. You will position yourself as a product expert – delivering solutions to meet the needs of the Industrial end user, be that a product based one, a support one or a ‘total offering’ issue. They will see you as the route to win more end user business whilst your ultimate aim is to ensure it is your product they recommend as the solution – not your competitor’s.
To be considered for this prestigious Business Development Manager role you will need to be selling tools into the industrial/Automotive distribution network.
With that experience, you will need to demonstrate the right approach too – ie that you work with your portfolio to assist them in securing end user business – as opposed to simply load as much stock in to them as you can.
My client believes firmly in the ‘push/pull’ approach to distributor sales and you will need to be an exponent of that to be successful with them.
It would also help if you have an interest in ‘making things / repairing things’ – someone who always has a project on the go in the garage.
The basic annual salary for the Business Development Manager position is £35,000. In addition you’ll earn an open ended commission based on sales and you’ll receive a host of benefits including a fully expensed company car, private healthcare and a contributory pension scheme.
We’ve been around over 40 years, and we’re an international tool manufacturer with interests in North America, Europe and Asia. Our Global turnover last year was €150m, and our UK operation runs out of state-of-the-art offices where we’ve placed a big emphasis on making our environment as enjoyable as it can be (for a workplace!)
