Business Development Manager
Based in Colchester
Salary circa £25,000 + benefits including uncapped commission
A successful and well-established supplier of educational supplies is currently looking to recruit a confident and ambitious Business Development Manager at their Colchester HQ. You will be responsible for winning new business and developing them into loyal accounts aswell as maintaining and growing existing business through intelligent and tenacious phone activity, playing a key role in the company’s growth plans. Working to realistic activity and revenue KPIs you will be expected to proactively promote and sell the company’s product range to schools across your region, to both existing customers and prospects, establishing rapport and gaining new business. Initially you will be office-based but in time and once you have demonstrated success in the role you will have the opportunity to combine this with face to face customer visits.
You will be supported by a family owned and run company who place great emphasis on developing skilled members of staff and helping them progress in their careers. Many of their staff have been with them for a good number of years which is a testimony to the company in itself.
This role will suit individuals not afraid to pick up the phone and sell, able to demonstrate resilience and have the desire to generate new business, close sales and develop long standing relationships. You will have experience working in a fast-paced and focused environment having worked towards KPIs and will combine this with a strategic and commercial approach to your work.
You will be a confident and tenacious individual, with a track record of closing sales and developing long standing relationships aswell as exceeding targets. Excellent influencing, negotiating and listening skills are essential. You will need to be a problem solver, able to find solutions to commercial questions and articulate them effectively.
