One of the UK’s largest and foremost law firms is currently looking to recruit a Case Handler with personal injury litigation experience at their Birmingham office. You would be joining a team responsible for a large number of individuals who have sustained injuries as a result of accidents abroad. The cases are pursued through the English Courts and are of Fast Track value. The team deals with employers’ liability, package holiday, cruise, RTA and public liability matters.
You will carry out Travel Litigation case handling duties and be expected to handle your own case load immediately. You’ll liaise regularly with a wide range of clients and medical professionals, both over the phone and in writing, carrying out research and preparing legal documents.
This is litigation at its most challenging and regularly involves making new law or pushing the boundaries of existing law as the cases concerned deal with complex issues of applicable law, liability and jurisdictional arguments.
o Proven experience in Personal Injury essential, travel litigation desirable however training will be provided
o An understanding of negligence, breach of contract, misrepresentation and breach of statutory duty
o Ability to manage numerous cases at any one time and work with minimal supervision
o Able to follow guidelines and processes however confident enough to use own judgment as required
o Strong communication skills, liaising regularly with clients and medical professionals
