Job Title: Contract IT Software Project Manager

Location: Central Manchester

Duration: 6 Months

Day Rate: £380 to £425 depending on experience

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced IT Project Manager to take a lead role within a specialist insurance business based in Central Manchester.

The main focus will be to manage and facilitate the vendor management and successful implementation of their COTS field service/inspection software which will involve the implementation of a new system into the existing legacy architecture of legacy systems.

The company is key part of a global organisation where IT is critical to their continued success and growth.

The Role

The project, led by the US, has been tasked to enhance globally Engineering’s ability to efficiently capture, access, analyse, and manage information related to loss control and statutory inspections, providing enhanced decision-making data analytics, both internally and for our client companies.

The objective is to implement a purchased software solution that will integrate with Group systems and provides enhanced data analytics capabilities. The system will improve internal Engineering service workflow management, and both internal and external recommendation management as well as provides mobile capability to their Engineering field staff

The current business process is manual and paper based, and the proposed solution will be automated utilising mobile PDA devices

The teams who will in the main be using the solution are home based mobile engineers, with varying degrees of IT skills.

You will manage the vendor process through to the eventual implementation in conjunction with an established project management structure that will provide support.

Key Experience Required

  • You will be an experienced IT Project Manager with experience of working with US based teams
  • You will have good experience of implementing and integrating new systems into existing legacy architecture, focused around field service, inspection type software or remote workforce management type software.
  • You will need to have good vendor management experience
  • You will have some sector knowledge of Insurance or Finance
