Position: Data Centre Services Manager
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Salary: £60,000 to £65,000

We are looking for an experienced hands-on Data Centre Manager with experience of managing an enterprise scale infrastructure to join a major UK company based in Birmingham
We are looking for someone with excellent people management and strong technical skills especially within virtualized environments to both manage the Data Centre services including incident, problem and change management as well as take the technical lead on a number of exciting projects throughout 2015.
You will assume responsibility for their largely virtualised data centre housing 300+ servers managing a small team of infrastructure specialists in a 24/7 environment facilitated by an on call rota.
You will be responsible for the service management of the datacentre including incident, problem and change management as well as the management of projects including: Major Disaster Recover Project, their current implementation of Veeam, Win 2012 and SQL Server 2012 implementation as well as a number of security projects. You will take ownership of these projects and will manage them form a technical perspective using both internal and external resources.
Your core hours will be Monday to Friday 9:00 to 5:30pm however you will be expected to be available as an escalation point to the team outside of these hours.
Key Experience Required
We are looking for someone highly technical that can also manage and has experience of taking ownership of large infrastructure based projects.
You will need to have experience of managing a datacentre environment and will have strong technical skills and ideally the associated qualifications in VMWare, Vblock, Windows Servers, Networking and Storage. You also will be experienced in managing large scale business applications that run on virtualized platforms.
Any experience with System Center 2012 and Veeam would also be very useful.
