Data Protection Advisor
Based in Birmingham

This is a hands-on role as part of a Data Protection Team tasked with providing data protection subject matter expertise, with a particular focus on individual rights, incident response and GDPR. Responsibilities will include…
o Identifying and investigating data breaches, carrying out root cause analyses and severity assessments
o Providing practical solutions where shortfalls are identified, implementing corrective measures
o Managing the completion of a large volume of complex requests for access to or deletion of personal data
o Review & complete complex Subject Access Requests and FOIs
o Advising the business on data protection and PECR
o Assisting in developing awareness of and ensuring compliance with data protection legislation
o Liaising with regulatory and client care subject matter experts to deliver a ‘one voice’ response management process
This role will suit a hands-on data protection specialist, ideally ISEB Data Protection or CIPP/E qualified, with experience analysing problems, identifying and evaluating options and deploying sound decision-making skills. A demonstrable track record of completing SARs and FOIs, developing and making changes to improve efficiency and quality of process will be required.
You will be a confident and tenacious individual with excellent communication skills, able to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. A problem solver with strong attention to detail, you will also have high quality report writing skills, able to develop and present complex ideas.
