I am recruiting for a Deputy Manager for a children’s residential service based in Birmingham. The role is based in a small residential home and provides high quality, specialist residential, educational and therapeutic services for vulnerable young people. This role offers an excellent range of benefits and ongoing training and support.
You will report to the Registered Manger and the role will have varied responsibilities including managing the day-to-day duties within the home and the care and support of the young people.
You will also be responsible for implementing and following the home’s operational policies and the care practice standards and ensuring that care is within a warm and supportive atmosphere.
Additionally you will take full responsibility for the staff and service users in the absence of the Registered Manager.
To be considered for this Deputy Manager role, you must hold a NVQ level 3 NVQ in Children and Young Peoples Workforce and have at least 1 year’s experience working with children in a residential setting.
You must be able to act as a senior team member in the absence of management and deal with any issues that may arise. Ideally you will have experience and knowledge of children with EBD.
You must also be able to engage with young people and help to make a positive difference to their lives, be a car driver and have excellent communication skills.
