Design and Technical Manager
Up to £60k per annum +car+pension+bonus

This large, well established Principal Contractor based in Birmingham are looking for a Design and Technical Manager due to expansion of their successful team.

The Role:
Reporting to the Technical Director and within the Technical and Design team, the projects will be construction based particularly in the education sector.

You will be responsible for:
-Proving design advice and management support.
-Efficient delivery of projects nationally and strategically
-Utilising construction knowledge and experience to develop cost effective design solutions with project design teams.
-Apply value engineering principles and ensuring best value for all parties.
-Ensure an effective construction phase by applying an understanding of site management practices, risks, costs and co-ordination.

-Working as part of a national team, primarily focussed in the Education sector to develop and share best practice in design and design management.

The Candidate:
The role would be ideal for an experienced Design Manager or Technical Manager with a background working on a wide range of construction sectors, particularly in the education sector.

You must have a well-developed technical construction background, with knowledge of BREEAM and its management and BIM and its implementation.
You will have knowledge of Modern Methods of construction, Modularisation and “off-site”.
Knowledge of “Asta Power Project”, or similar is also desirable.
