Job Title: Desktop Support Analyst

Salary: £20,000 to £24,000 + Benefits
My client is a well-established, award winning international law firm with offices around the UK and overseas. The company has a strong belief in IT and invest greatly in its various cross-functional technology teams around the UK. An opportunity has arisen to join their IT Support team in Birmingham. The role is situated on an IT helpdesk handling IT support tickets and taking appropriate action to resolve any technical issues. Carry out routine tasks associated with the general upkeep of hardware, software and peripherals such as general maintenance, testing and cleaning. The candidate will also carry out required monitoring, logging and reporting of tasks, completing theme were appropriate and escalating if further assistance is needed. The role is predominantly a desktop support role so you will be responsible for looking after PC’s, Printers, other peripherals and IT hardware. There will also be a need to maintain the organisation’s applications including, Microsoft Office, Practice Management System, CRM, M&R Desktop and Document Management System.
You will ideally have at least a couple of years’ experience in a similar IT Support environment handling IT Support queries whilst adhering to appropriate service delivery methodologies. Organised and able to prioritise your workload, you will handle support calls and deal with them appropriately or escalate to a colleague. Although a desktop support role, you will demonstrate an underpinning knowledge of business IT outside of your own role. You will have a good understanding of Microsoft products/applications including Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems. You will also be familiar with the repair of PC’s and associated hardware as you may even be asked to repair a computer ‘desk side’.
Highly accessible and easily commutable from areas including, Birmingham, Edgbaston, Sutton Coldfield, Erdington, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Lichfield and Solihull.
It is likely that you will already be working as an: IT Support Analyst, 1st Line IT Support Analyst, 2nd Line IT Support Analyst, PC Support Analyst or Desktop Support Analyst.
