Job Title: Embedded Firmware C Developer – Internet of Things

Sector: Smart Home Technology

Location: Birmingham West Midlands

Salary: Circa £30,000 to £40,000 (Dependent on experience)

This is an incredibly rare opportunity to join an exciting business based in Birmingham who design and produce highly innovative consumer products related to the Internet of things.

Their products allow you to control your heating, lighting and anything that has a socket from your smart phone or computer and this role will focus on the development of firmware of radio controlled products.

The role

You will be working as a firmware developer within a small talented team using embedded C on a number of innovative and sector leading projects and sometimes take the helm in developing radio controlled electronic products.

You will be working mainly with ARM Cortex-M core microprocessors used in the hardware to allow entire house or buildings utilities to be controlled from a smart phone or website via a hub.
You will also work occasionally with PIC 18 Microchips.

The product range they produce is fascinating and new cutting edge products are constantly being developed which will allow you to get your teeth into some really interesting development projects.

Key experience required

To be suitable for the role you will have strong experience with embedded software development within Embedded C. It is preferable that you have experience with RF based communication however not a requirement but experience within networking communications would be very useful.

You will ideally be familiar with IAR Embedded Workbench and MPLAB IDEs, although this is not essential.

A good level of experience and track record with the ARM Cortex-M core microprocessors and PIC 19 Microchips is desirable but again is not essential.

You will need to have some knowledge of hardware components and low level operation.

This is a great opportunity for someone with embedded C firmware development experience to make a real impact with a fast growing technology based business that offers fantastic prospects and growth for the future.
