One of the UK’s largest and foremost law firms is currently looking to recruit two Finance Assistants on fixed term 9 month contracts for the Financial Operations team at their Sheffield office.

The Role:
You would play a key role as part of a fast-paced and high-volume finance function, responsible for both the purchase ledger and bank reconciliations, processing all work in line with company policies and service level agreements.

Work will include…
– Performing daily high-volume bank reconciliations, maintaining up to date and accurate cash management processes
– Investigating and identifying unreferenced funds received into the firm’s bank accounts
– Processing invoices onto clients’ and nominal accounts, maintaining supplier accounts and completing payment runs
– Dealing with telephone and email enquiries from internal and external customers plus suppliers, to resolution or escalation
– Understanding the roles of colleagues in all areas of Financial Operations, recognising the end to end processing of transactions to be able to work flexibly and deal with, or refer queries in a timely manner

The Candidate:
The Finance Assistant role will suit an adaptable, reliable and self-motived individual looking for an opportunity to play an important role within a fast-paced corporate environment. You must have…
– Strong numeracy skills and an understanding of general bookkeeping principals
– Experience in high volume, high value multi bank account environment, and/or experience of operating in a high-volume purchase ledger function
– Experience of working in an externally regulated environment
– A keen attention to detail, and ability to spot any errors or anomalies in transactions
– Good communication skills, both written and telephone

The job will be suitable for individuals who have experience with the following roles: Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Bank Reconciliations Clerk, Purchase Ledger Assistant, Accounts Payable Clerk.

The Package:
Salary: £17,000 – £18,500 dependent on experience.
