A highly regarded and successful organisation comprising of four Catholic schools is currently looking to recruit an accomplished and commercially driven Finance Manager on a part-time term-time basis. Hours would be 22.5 per week, term-time + 15 days (205 days per annum).
The schools all converted to Academy status in April 2014, and as such will be entirely responsible for all aspects of their financial management. As an experienced Finance professional and under the direction of the Board, you would be responsible for managing all aspects of Finance, implementing robust financial accounting, governance and reporting structures, delivering financial management services, while supporting the multi-Academy’s financial and commercial strategy.
You would be responsible for all aspects of financial management. You will be directly involved in the day to day operations, particularly budget and cash flow management, overseeing the preparation of VAT returns and completion of the sales / purchase ledgers, plus bank transactions and reconciliations. You would also provide guidance to the senior leadership team in understanding the Academies’ finances as a tool for raising standards, providing input into how the multi-Academy could optimise income and move business activities forward in accordance with regulations and policies.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished and commercially minded individual with a successful record of financial budgeting, management and control. You will be ACCA / FCA / CIMA qualified. You will combine an in depth understanding of financial regulations, accounting practices and risk management with a genuine interest in education and knowledge of educational funding streams.
Previous experience planning and delivering budgets is essential, as is the ability to communicate with, lead, motivate and encourage individuals. You will need to feel confident working with senior professionals including headteachers, inspectors, and government officials. You must be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, analytical accuracy, plus incisive strategic thinking.
