The world’s leading manufacturer of wood-based panels is looking to hire an influential and highly motivated Financial Controller. If you’re a strong leader with a passion for financial accuracy, a demonstrable drive to improve efficiency, and looking to make a real impact in a growing company then we’d love to hear from you.

This is a key role as part of a truly global business with over 40 large manufacturing sites and an annual turnover of circa €4.5billion. The privately owned UK operation based in Chirk, Wrexham, has a turnover of £350million with ambitious plans to double that in the near future as well as exciting investment plans for the next 5 years. You would be tasked with developing and maintaining the annual budget and 5-year plan, providing financial direction for the company.

Full-time permanent role, you will ideally live within a commutable distance from the Chirk plant. Offering an attractive salary with benefits including salary sacrifice scheme and various health and wellbeing initiatives.

The Role
- Overseeing all financial controls, governance, and policies, keeping them up-to-date with regulatory changes
- Fostering a supportive environment, mentoring colleagues and driving continuous improvement in processes
- Partnering with all depts across the site to identify profit improvement opportunities and cost efficiencies
- Empowering dept heads to become more accountable for their financial performance
- Continuously seeking ways to streamline and optimise the Finance Department's operations
- Deputising for the CFO, as required, for Kronospan UK matters
- Preparing and reviewing financial presentations to support company investment plans

The Candidate
The ideal candidate for the Financial Controller role will be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with significant post qualification experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will need a strong understanding of tax codes and laws, financial reporting experience plus strong systems knowledge.
