This established temporary building contractor seeks a General Manager to work from their Stoke-On-Trent division.

The Role:
The General Manager will oversee and control the management of all temporary building construction projects. They will also have responsibility for the maintenance contracts of existing rental buildings.

The General Manager will be responsible for up to 4 temporary building projects at a time and 130 rental maintenance contracts. They will spend 4 days in the office and 1 day on site. These projects will be installation of warehouses and portal cabins.

They will be responsible for Warehouses and Portal Cabins which are made from an aluminium extruded profile with steel inserts and PVC roofs. The walls are sandwich cladding and doors are speed doors or standard roller doors.
Completed buildings are transported to site by lorry and installed by the teams.

After securing the work from the sales team they will have an initial site visit with the client in order to pick stock and perform risk assessments and compliance testing. They will then devise a programme and be responsible for programme management, and health and safety.

Based from the office they will manage the overall project build and Site Managers on each project. They will be responsible for budgeting and cost control and will read drawings using AutoCad when needed.

Annual inspections are required for the rental contracts so crews need to be scheduled and managed. This is a client facing and demanding and busy role from their Stoke-On-Trent office base reporting to the Director of the region.

The Candidate:
The successful applicant must have a proven track record in a similar role as a General Manager or Operations Manager in the temporary building market or similar construction sector.
The role would suit someone with experience of aluminium extruded profiles,PVC Roofs,Envelopes,Cladding,Steel inserts ,portal building or warehouse construction.

You may have experience with Eurocodes,BS6399 and some knowledge of structural calculations would be helpful but not essential.
