One of the UK’s leading independent professional services companies is currently looking to recruit an intelligent and enthusiastic Information Assistant at their Bromley office. As part of the company’s National Information Service and reporting to the NIS Manager, you would be tasked with providing accurate, timely and high quality data and research in response to a wide variety of information requests, delivering value by providing a consistently high standard of work.

As part of a team of 10 and working alongside 2 Research Librarians, you would respond to business enquiries from all departments within the firm as well as conduct reference interviews with clients in a bid to ensure a full understanding of their information needs. Enquiries will include requests for company information, financial information, market research, corporate finance, litigation support and industry specific data. There will also be requests for accountancy specific information relating to audit, tax and business recovery.
There will also be opportunities to become involved all activities of the department and to take on more responsibilities, which may potentially include assisting with the development of the research service, managing the current awareness service, managing trials of new online products, plus promoting the department within the firm.
The ideal candidate for the role will have experience working within a high volume commercial information environment and must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of business information sources and online services, including (but not limited to) Bloomberg, Companies House, LexisNexis, IBISWorld and Hemscott. You will combine excellent IT skills with a wide range of electronic database search experience, with a good understanding of complex Boolean logic construction. A degree plus relevant library/information qualification will also be required.
You will be a well organised and thorough individual, able to multitask and prioritise a workload effectively, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain accurate while working under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the confidence to liaise with people at all levels will also be required.
