Job Title: Infrastructure Manager / Team Leader

Duration: Permanent

Location: Bedford

Salary: £30000 – £36000

Infrastructure Team Leader / Manager to own the responsibility for keeping business critical Infrastructure functions operating to the highest possible standards at all times, responsible for managing a small team of support people providing business critical help and support to operational teams in every department of the company.

It is the objective of this team to ensure that all staff are able to use the technology systems of the business at all times in the most effective and efficient manner.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the maintenance and development of all the key elements of the company infrastructure, including but not necessarily restricted to:

  • Servers
  • Network
  • Switches
  • Firewalls
  • Connectivity
  • Web-farm
  • Telephony

The Infrastructure Team Leader / Manager will also be responsible for planning future projects, system developments, migrations etc. to ensure that the business maintains its competitive position and is able to offer all clients a secure and fully functioning technological environment for their interface.

Key Tasks

Infrastructure & network maintenance

The company has a reasonably sizeable network, maintenance of this is essential to the day to day running of the business. It is the job of the Infrastructure Manager to advise the business on risk and requirement to the achievement of this target.

Infrastructure & connectivity development & planning

The management of the company infrastructure, both in terms of current requirements and future planning will be one of the key functions of this role.

Management & development of the team responsible for system maintenance & support

The small team of people responsible for providing system support and maintenance will fall to the holder of this role. You will be required to help these more junior staff to plan and manage their workload so that they are completely focused on supporting the internal departments.

Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013.
Microsoft Exchange 2000, 2003 and 2010.
Microsoft Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2003 R2, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2.
Microsoft Active Directory 2003 and 2008,
Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Lync 2013, VMWare ESXI,
Microsoft ISA server 2006.
Symantec Back-Up Exec,
Eset Nod32 Anti-Virus,
Watchguard firewalls,
Barracuda Spam Firewalls,
VBScripts,
IP Phone systems,
Cisco Switches, Routers and ASA,
SharePoint 2003,
HP ISCSI san.
Network design and implementation skills.

This would suit candidates who have previously worked in one of the following roles – Infrastructure Manager, Infrastructure Team Leader, Support Manager, Support Team Leader, Network Support Manager, Network Support Team Leader, Server Support Manager, Server Support Team Leader.
