Job Title: Insurance Account Handler (Personal Lines)

Salary: £20,000 – £22,000 + Bonuses

I am recruiting for my client, an insurance brokers based on the Wirral that offers both mainstream and niche insurance products to both consumer and business customers. Established almost twenty years ago, they have a built a successful team of underwriters and account executives and ‘hold the pen’ for several well-known insurance companies. A new position has come up within the business for an Insurance Account Handler to join the business and manage an existing book of personal lines insurance customers from initial introduction through to renewals and MTA’s (Mid-term adjustments).

The Role:

Based on the Wirral, you will be looking after an existing book of business/accounts, converting prospects in to sales. You will identify new opportunities with existing customers to cross-sell and up-sell additional insurance products. You will assist clients with mid-term adjustments as well as issuing new policies and arranging cover. You will provide quotations for new business and renewals and have good eye for detail, checking that policy and proposal details are accurate.

The Person:

You will already be working in an insurance company and possess at least two years’ experience in a similar role. You will well organised, able to meet deadlines with a good eye for detail. The role is customer facing so you will be a clear, confident and friendly communicator with both good spoken and verbal communication skills. Importantly, you will be driven and hungry, with the confidence to grow an existing book of business using a mix of account management and new business skills.


Located on the Wirral, the role is commutable from Birkenhead, Wallasey, Ellesmere Port, Deeside, Chester and Liverpool.

It is likely that you will already be working as an Insurance Account Handler or Sales Executive or Sales Administrator in the insurance industry.
