One of the UK’s leading independent professional services companies is currently recruiting for an experienced and technically sound Helpdesk Technician at their Newcastle office. As part of National IT Helpdesk team and reporting to the Regional IT Manager, you would be tasked with providing efficient 1st and 2nd line IT support to staff across the UK, resolving tickets raised by email, telephone and service manager.

You would be responsible for fault monitoring and troubleshooting, logging calls accurately into the system, providing immediate resolution of issues if possible, or escalating to the next support level within the team when necessary. You will ensure that the quality of assistance provided to users is consistently of the highest level.

Hours of work will be 9:30am – 6pm, out of hours support may on occasion also be required.

The ideal candidate for the role ideally will have some experience in Helpdesk / 1st Line IT Support with a good knowledge of Windows operating systems, plus a willingness to learn new technologies. You will be an articulate individual with excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills, as well as a good level of initiative, able to assess each different users’ level of IT knowledge and adapt your diagnosis accordingly. Previous experience within a customer facing role is desired.

You will have an enthusiastic personality with a flexible attitude and must be able to demonstrate a real passion for IT. You will be a well organised and flexible individual with strong communication skills and excellent problem solving and analytical ability.
