Position: IT Service Desk Manager / Helpdesk Manager

Location: Bordesley Green, Birmingham, West Midlands

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000

Benefits: 10% Bonus, Pension + Benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ITIL certified Helpdesk Manager or Service Desk Manager to join a FTSE 250 company based in Birmingham within walking distance of both New Street and Moor Street Stations.

We are looking for an agile and motivated individual to provide a single point of contact for all IT internal customers and external suppliers and to facilitate the restoration of normal operational service with minimal business impact on the Customer within agreed service levels and business priorities.

This is a great opportunity to join and lead a small team of five helpdesk analysts and to encourage an atmosphere of change and excellent customer service.

The Role

You will guide, and act as a mentor to the Service Desk team as they deliver a service to the business, providing high quality information and support to their customers who use the services offered by IT.

You will lead and motivate the team who are responsible for the handling of support calls and ongoing support of IT standards across a large multi-site business.

You will ensure that all contact with the Service Desk are a positive experience for their customers, endeavoring to ensure that calls are logged efficiently and escalated as appropriate within agreed targets.

You will take responsibility for problem and incident management of all services as well as ensure all team members are updating and resolving calls in a timely manner.

Key Experience Required

You will be an experienced service desk or helpdesk manager with at least three to five years’ experience of managing a service desk or helpdesk team in a multi-site environment.

You will have at least your ITIL foundation certification and will be looking for a role and company where you can bring a fresh approach and ideas to further improve their performance.
