Maintenance Manager / Planner
Based in Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary circa £35,000 – £38,000 (depending upon candidate) + Excellent Benefits

The UK’s leading and best-known food on the go retailer are currently looking to recruit an exceptionally well-organised and methodical Maintenance Manager at their central site in Newcastle.

The Role:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you would be tasked with initially setting up the site’s new Agility maintenance management system then using it to plan and organise the site’s maintenance resource, stores and replenishment cycle, whilst maximising maintenance slots and targeting 100% completion of planned maintenance activity. You will produce detailed work plans for the engineering team and external contractors, ensuring the correct skills, materials & resources are available to complete planned work, communicating with other functions in order that planned work is coordinated to minimise disruption to operations, whilst maximising equipment availability.

This is an important role in ensuring the site’s state of the art manufacturing assets are able to produce circa 7m pasties and sausage rolls per week for its hungry customers!

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for the role must have proven planning, scheduling and coordinating skills, developed in similar planning roles within fast-paced FMCG environments. Previous experience in a maintenance role would be a distinct advantage, as would exposure to Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques such as 5S, Root Cause Problem Solving and Standard Work/SOP’s

You will be a well organised individual with good attention to detail, able to work to tight deadlines with the ability to work alone or as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem solving ability will be required, as will excellent communications skills plus good IT competency, particularly proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
