Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

One of the UK’s leading integrated waste management companies is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Fitter at their in Edmonton site in North London. Reporting to and working closely alongside the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you would be responsible for the maintenance of all mechanical equipment, implementing planned preventative maintenance, minimizing machine breakdowns and reducing lead times.

The nature of the role is such that many plant failures necessitate immediate action and this may require working outside of normal working hours on occasions. Such failures require the safest, fastest and most effective repair possible, hence a commitment to working such hours either on a call out basis or overtime is essential.

The ideal candidate for the role must be time served with qualifications in Mechanical Engineering with experience in the repair of the following equipment; water tube boilers, steam turbine, pumps, cranes, hydraulic systems, compressors, fans and conveyors.

You will be a results oriented and flexible individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as an analytical approach to problem solving plus the ability to learn and implement new methods and processes.
