Mechanical Project Engineer

£45000 - £60000 per annum
Job Type:
Job Ref:

I am recruiting an Mechanical Project Engineer to join one of the UKs leading suppliers of manufacturing kit into the food, pharma & FMCG sectors.

A considerable amount of time will be spent at client sites along the M4 Corridor as you will be responsible for delivering a ‘cradle to grave’ solution for each project.

This will include costing & quoting, designing and specifying, procurement and installation / commissioning – the latter being via client teams and subbies.

The projects range from new build to modification / upgrade type assignments and you are likely to be managing a number of them at any one time.

You’ll need to be comfortable heading the project up with the client facing responsibilities that come as part of that.

You will be the company’s representative on site and the clients go to person during the project. As such you will have a high degree of technical competency in welding, fabrication, pipework etc This will most likely be within hygienic / clean room environments. As such it is highly likely you will have knowledge of large-scale steam / water / compressed air systems.

As an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer you will experience in a similar installation role – if you’ve qualifications in that area too (degree, HNC, HND, etc) then all the better but they are not vital.

What is important is the need to manage multipole projects effectively and bring them in under tight time and budget constraints. Excellent man management skills and commercial acumen are also needed – both when dealing with your own team and with clients / sub contractors.

They are offering an attractive base salary of circa £50k plus a car allowance of circa £6k in addition to the usual bells and whistles you would expect in a role of this nature.

If this appeals (not just the salary but the role too!!) then I’d like to hear from you.

You can apply on line as directed.
