We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to work for our client, the world’s largest independent soft drinks manufacturer. You would play a key role responsible for the performance, team management, continuous improvement and health and safety at the company’s Macduff site in Aberdeenshire.

The role will suit a skilled leader with experience managing teams, building team capability and motivating people to bring their best every day, ideally within a fast-paced and high-volume food manufacturing environment.

Please note: This is a full-time permanent role, working hours Monday to Thursday: 8.30am – 5pm, Friday: 8.30am – 4pm.

The Role
As Operations Manager you would be the most senior person at the Macduff site, with full day to day P&L accountability. You have 6 direct reports (engineering, production. warehouse, quality, and administration) overall leading a team of 20 people. Key duties and responsibilities will include…
– Leading the site team, maximising engagement, creating a high performing team through development and coaching
– Driving Health & Safety principles across the site ensuring these are adhered to at all times
– Full accountability for the management of agreed budgets, including engineering projects
– Managing, controlling and monitoring “cost per case” against KPIs, budgets and forecasts
– Ensuring staffing levels are optimised and planned; considering demand and cost per case
– Implementing and maintaining a continuous improvement culture across the site to drive OEE performance and yield
– Developing training and coaching programmes, ensuring effective succession plans are developed

The Candidate
The Operations Manager role will suit an adaptable, reliable and self-motived individual with significant experience supervising staff in busy manufacturing settings, ideally food / drink. You may be an experienced Factory Manager or Site Manager looking for a new challenge in an exciting fast paced FMCG company, or you could be an Operations or Production Manager in a larger site looking for that stepping stone to a larger General Manager role in the future.

In addition you must be able to demonstrate…
– Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
– Good knowledge of HACCP, understanding of HSE responsibilities linked with leading in a food production setting
– Able to set targets and manage performance to achieve results
– Strong attention to detail, meticulous approach to completing tasks, good multi-tasking skills
– Strong IT skills; Outlook, Word, Excel, SAP etc, plus good typing skills
