Production Manager – Food Manufacturing
Based in Enfield, North London
Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 + Excellent Benefits inc. Healthcare, Bonus & Staff Discount
The UK’s leading and best-known food on the go retailer are currently looking to recruit an experienced Production Manager for their Enfield Bakery.
The Bakery employs 270 staff through its production, despatch and distribution facilities, and supplies over 225 shops in the South East. As someone with significant experience working within a fast-paced production environment, ideally food manufacturing, you would be responsible for leading and developing the team, ensuring the right people and skills are available to deliver and meet production and delivery targets on time, to cost and specification, in line with food, health and safety standards.
You will also be responsible for monitoring key costs and continually reviewing functional KPI’s, as well as identifying and evaluating opportunities for improving efficiencies across production departments. In addition you’ll develop manpower and succession plans, be responsible for some recruitment activities, and you’ll deal proactively with people issues as and when they occur. You will have a number of direct reports that you will be personally responsible for, conducting monthly one-to-ones and agreeing individual development plans.
The ideal candidate for the role will have significant management experience within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, along with a good understanding of good manufacturing processes and food safety. A good, demonstrable working knowledge of lean manufacturing is required, as is an understanding of basic employment legislation, experience in training and developing team members, plus excellent knowledge and practical experience of Health & Safety.
You should be a strong hands-on manager, committed to driving productivity, quality, cost, improvements and customer service across the team, with a can-do attitude and exceptional communication and people management skills.
