Basic salary up to £40,000 plus excellent benefits package

We’re looking for a highly skilled and qualified Project Engineer to work in the Newcastle bakery of one of the UK’s most well-known food-on-the-go retailers.
You’ll be initially based in the most automated and high volume facility of the bakery where you’ll manage a number of projects in state of the art robotics, automation and refrigeration.
The Project Engineer will be part of a multidisciplinary team developing solutions for any issues that arise in a high volume continuous production plant. You’ll work closely with the site Production and Engineering teams to establish their needs and put in place the correct solutions. The role will involve some travel and offers opportunities to progress into a wider Project role within the business, so flexibility is essential.
The ideal candidate for the Project Engineer role will possess a minimum of 3 years engineering management / project experience in a food or FMCG business.
You’ll have a HNC or higher level qualification in an engineering discipline, and you will be fully conversant with all Microsoft packages. You’ll have substantial experience in leading, coaching and managing the performance of Technicians and Engineers. Previous experience of PPM, AutoCAD and CMMS is desirable.
You’ll also have excellent communication skills, be an outstanding problem solver and have a demonstrable track record of delivering performance improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

The basic salary for the Engineering Manager is £45,000. In addition you’ll receive an excellent benefits package, including the opportunity to earn 7.5% annual bonus, pension scheme, free life assurance and private medical insurance.
The role is full time, working mainly Monday to Friday although there is some work required at evenings and weekends. Some UK travel is required in the role.
