We’re looking to recruit an experienced ‘MRO’ Project Manager with heavy process plant experience for our client.

West Midlands based, but with regular trips to Nigeria.

We ideally need someone with experience of project managing the MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) aspects of complex ,heavy industry process facilities, such as; Cement, Minerals, Mining or Metals.

If that’s you, and you have strong electro-mechanical and commercial competences, combined with superb project leadership skills, then you could be exactly what we’re looking for.

The Role:
As Project Manager you’ll be UK (West Midlands) based, but with regular trips into country. Reporting to the Managing Director, you and your team will ensure the timely and accurate supply of parts and equipment needed for the smooth operation of four, high-value, cement manufacturing plants, across Nigeria.

You’ll also be tasked with being the technical authority needed, to ensure the accurate specification and sourcing of parts and equipment to be ordered by the procurement team in the UK and overseeing the timely placing of orders with suppliers, often based overseas and optimising the consolidation of supply to site in Nigeria, in an optimised manner, for least cost routing over the whole project.

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable, relevant experience of project managing the ‘MRO’ (maintenance, repair & overhaul) aspects of complex ‘heavy industry’ process plants.

You’ll also need experience of:
– Ensuring the smooth, timely supply of parts and plant, often on long lead times, made to order and only available internationally
– Managing major technical / commercial projects & acting as the ‘project hub’, for; engineering, finance, sales , & procurement
– Doing all the above for multiple sites in Africa, specifically Nigeria in the first instance
– Maintaining the smooth operation of cement plants or similar on a multi-site basis

In addition, it’s essential that you possess the following:
– A degree or equivalent level of industry experience
– Excellent commercial and electro-mechanical engineering skills
– Strong leadership ability
– Excellent customer relationship skills , with strong ‘people skills’ to get the best out of the internal teams supporting your project

Likely to be based within the West Midlands, Worcestershire or Warwickshire, you will be highly mobile and willing to spend at least 20% of your working year in Africa for trips of up to a week.

The Package:
Basic Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum for the ideal candidate.
Bonus: An annual bonus of up to £10,000 is also available if you hit your personal targets.
