We are currently looking for a Purchasing Officer to join our client, a leading fitout and refurbishment company specialising in education and workspaces serving London and the surrounding areas from a head office in Colchester.

The Role
As Purchasing Officer you will be primarily responsible for the day to day purchasing and procurement activities to ensure projects are delivered seamlessly and on time. The role will involve being reactive to requirements on a daily basis received from the Project Delivery team.

Key tasks will include…
- Attending Project Handover meetings and assisting with materials lists for the projects
- Raising Purchase Orders from the Materials List and emailing to Suppliers
- Processing order acknowledgements – enter data on system and investigate discrepancies / issues
- Liaising with suppliers and dealing with any queries/issues such as product availability, requesting quotations, lead times etc
- Researching potential suppliers and negotiation with existing supplier

There may be times during the year that purchasing is quiet and, in during these periods, you would be assisting the estimating team, creating quotations based on brief provided and researching materials, equipment and contractor pricing as necessary to complete the quotation.

The Candidate
You will be a hardworking, tenacious, and dependable individual with experience providing a high standard of administrative support in previous roles, ideally in a purchasing / supply chain capacity. You will be highly organised with a keen eye for detail as well as a fantastic communicator, able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels. Strong IT skills required with Excel competency.

I’m after an electrical engineer – to design control systems for small vessels.

It’s the full gamut from design to instal and commission – you may be soldering from time to time too.

Litigation Assistant - Military

The Role
You will provide key case support to both Case Handlers as well as the team’s Administrators, regularly liaising with clients and working collaboratively with Case Handlers to provide chargeable support to progress legal cases.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring actions on case correspondence are taken, requesting relevant medical records and supporting the funding process. You will provide a high standard of administrative support to the team, with tasks including taking minutes in meeting, invoice payments, email chasers, e-payment requests, distributing post electronically and closing files. You will also be responsible for using various computer programmes and have a focus on ensuring the Client database is up to date, so a being IT literate is a must.

There will also be an element of fee earning responsibility within the role which includes organising key meetings with counsel, experts and clients where appropriate.

- A law graduate (or equivalent) with a genuine interest in personal injury and/or medical negligence
- Prior experience as a Paralegal or Litigation Assistant would be beneficial
- An interest in, and a desire to learn about the Military legal sector
- Excellent client care and inter-personal skills
