A global provider of cutting-edge corrosion protection and re-engineering solutions is currently looking to recruit a Research & Development Chemist at their Leeds Head Office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled and collaborative R&D team, ideally suited to a recent Chemistry graduate with some exposure to the paint / polymer industry.
This is a varied and interesting role with opportunities to learn and develop as you progress in it. Reporting to and working closely alongside the R&D Manager, you would undertake research and product development work. Key responsibilities to include…
o Testing experimental formulations to obtain the best possible results and to provide indicators for future work
o Obtain up to date information on current and new materials available to formulators
o Discuss, advise and report on projects, ensuring all results are recorded for future reference.
o Liaise with academia, use publications, journals and other media to research work for current and future development projects
Full training in the company’s products and coating systems will be given.
The role will suit a well-educated individual with a degree or equivalent in Chemistry or a related discipline, with experience providing a high standard of research support in laboratory and looking for an opportunity to develop those skills. You must have…
o Excellent communication skills, able to build rapport with peers internally and externally
o The ability to manage your time and workload efficiently and effectively
o Strong attention to detail, good data analysis skills, meticulous approach to completing tasks
o Experience within the paint / polymer industry would be ideal however is not essential
