Regional Secretarial & Support Supervisor
Based in Reading / Guildford

One of the UK’s leading independent professional services companies is currently looking to recruit an accomplished Secretarial Supervisor. You would be responsible for managing the secretarial service within the Southern region, supervising a team of secretaries and coordinating the overall secretarial provision.
This is a busy and challenging role, pivotal in ensuring the smooth running offices across the South. The secretaries range from Administrative Assistants to experienced Executive Assistants and you would be expected to develop an in depth understanding of what each different role involves. Key responsibilities will include…
o attending recruitment interviews and conducting inductions with new joiners
o defining and updating current job specifications
o assessing technical skills and manage training to create a highly skilled, consistent team
o overseeing and supporting the appraisal, development and objective setting processes; working with HR in terms of any performance management issues
o implementing best practice to maximise chargeable time and department efficiencies
o forward planning to manage peaks and troughs of workloads
You will meet with the secretarial team on a periodic basis to seek their views and suggestions and to ensure that a team approach to office secretarial support is achieved. You would be based from either the company’s Reading or Guildford office however regular travel across the 9 offices in the Southern region will form a key part of your role.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and supremely well organised Secretarial Supervisor or Manager with significant experience providing high quality administrative support within a large national firm, ideally professional services. Experience supervising a secretarial team is an essential requirement of this role.
You will be able to demonstrate effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload appropriately, plus an excellent eye for detail and a methodical and professional approach. You will be a strong communicator with excellent IT skills, able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision.
With almost 3500 partners and staff across 34 offices generating a fee income of over £300 million, and having recently undergone an exciting rebrand, you would be joining one of the 3 principal mid-market accountancy firms at a particularly interesting time.
