One of the UK’s largest and foremost law firms is currently recruiting for a Regulatory Advisor within the General Counsel team, responsible for providing complex advice and resolution to the business to ensure that it is able to meet its regulatory and legal obligations.

This is a full-time role on a 6 month fixed term contract. The company have introduced a ‘Flexible by Choice’ policy, giving you the opportunity to work from home, or at any of their principal city centre offices (London, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield), or a combination of the two.

The Role
This is a hands-on role as part of a General Counsel team tasked with providing compliance advice and resolution to the business, dealing with a range of matters, including conflicts of interests, confidentiality and disclosure, ensuring that it is able to meet its regulatory and legal obligations.

As a Subject Matter Expert in at least one business area you will provide complex advice and resolution to the business to ensure that it is able to meet its regulatory and legal obligations. You would manage direct liaison and guidance with Associates and Partners of the business, providing advice, reports and regulatory guidance in a proactive manner as and where required. You will also be required to liaise directly with regulators.

The Candidate
– Practical experience of a Compliance or in-house legal function
– Graduate Calibre and / or other relevant professional qualification
– Extensive knowledge of SRA Standards and Regulations and providing advice in relation to the application of these principles within a large multi-disciplinary law firm
– Knowledge and experience of conducting SRA related investigations
– Experience of working in a pressurised environment and to tight schedules
– Knowledge of legal procedures
– Excellent drafting skills or report presentation, able to present and report to senior managers
