I am currently walking on the behalf of a well-established and growing organisation that is looking to recruit for multiple Support Workers to join their home in Ilford.
The person centred home accommodates for young people aged between 6 and 17 years of age, who require an emergency placement.
This service takes on same day, planned referrals and can accommodate up to 17 days.
As Support Worker, you will work with a team on a 24.5 hr rota, including sleep ins. You will deliver the highest standard of care to the residents, ensuring their physical and psychological welfare is well looked after.
You will be responsible for engaging the young people in various activities, support their educational needs and helping them learn independent living skills.
Due to the nature of the home, you will need to be able to work within a quick paced environment, and able to work within a challenging environment.
To qualify for the role you will need:
- Experience within a similar role (Minimum of 6 months) – working with young people
- Experience of working with challenging behaviour
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A ‘can do’ attitude with motivation to achieve excellence
- Must be a car driver
A NVQ / QCF Level 3 (Children’s & Young People) would be desired but not essential as my client will ensure full training and opportunity to gain this qualification.
