Residential Support Worker
Salary: £16,000 – £18,000
We currently have exciting opportunities for an experienced support worker to join a company specialising in children’s services. The role offers an excellent range of benefits including enhanced annual leave, training and ongoing support, pension and private healthcare.
I am recruiting for a support worker for a children’s service based in Birmingham. The role is based in a small residential home for children with varying needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties and behaviours that challenge.
Your role will be varied and you will be responsible to the registered manager for the day-to-day duties within the home. As a Residential Support Worker you will be a key member of the team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to young people. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users and their families, supporting them in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital.
To be considered for this role, you must hold a NVQ level 3 and have 2 years of experience working with children in a residential setting. Ideally you will have experience and knowledge of children with EBD. You must be able to engage with young people and help to make a positive difference to their lives.
The organisation are leading providers of education and residential care placements for vulnerable young people with complex and special educational needs. You must be a car driver and have excellent communication skills along with the flexibility to respond to the changing needs of the children and young people.
