Safety, Health & Environment Manager
Based in Edmonton, North London

One of the UK’s leading integrated waste management companies is looking to recruit an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Manager. The company have developed innovative and sustainable waste management solutions in order to deal with various waste streams from local authorities.
This is a fantastic chance for an assured H&S professional to make an impact within a dynamic and forward-thinking business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you would have overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the Company Safety Plan as well as reviewing the current Safety and Environmental management systems, ensuring compliance with the relevant legal, procedural and contractual requirements.
You will be expected to conduct regular reviews of the Company Safety Plan, updating and revising when necessary to ensure it fulfils company objectives. You will act as the internal authority on all Health & Safety matters, monitoring all activities for compliance with company policy, developing and implementing new strategies aimed at improving performance, as well as providing guidance, advice and auditing to management when required. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing Safety training plans for all departments.
The ideal candidate for the role will be an accomplished Health & Safety practitioner with experience providing a high standard of Health & Safety support within an engineering or construction environment. You will hold a NEBOSH Diploma and will combine that with a strong working knowledge of OHSAS 18001. Practical experience investigating, analyzing, recommending and implementing systems and processes that measure and monitor operational performance of a business in Health and Safety compliance will be required, as will experience producing and delivering Health & Safety training .
You will be a confident, self-motivated and well organised individual with excellent attention to detail as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Excellent communication and influencing skills will also be required as will good IT skills.
