Position: Senior Java Developer – Fantastic opportunity to develop into Technical Lead
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Salary: Circa £45,000 to £50,000 plus Benefits
This is a very rare opportunity for an experienced Java developer to join a fantastic development team and to be given the opportunity to progress and lead that team on a number of projects for a market leading software house that have been established for 25 years.
The company is looking for an experienced Java Developer who would like to take the next step in their career and lead a development team and they are happy to put in whatever training and mentoring is required to help you achieve this.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative Java Developer who enjoys a challenge and who looks for opportunities to make best use of technology in problem solving.
You will be tasked with developing high quality solutions using latest technologies and providing software development expertise.
As well as development, you will be expected to undertake peer code reviews manage and motivate a team of Java developers and provide technical analysis and design where required.
Part of the role will be customer facing, discussing solutions and demonstrating the software capability to their blue chip client base.
Most of your time will be leading projects in a Waterfall/Agile environment as well as getting the best out of the team.
You will be expected to do some coding as and when necessary.
Key Experience Required
You will have at least 4-5 years of commercial Java Web Development and a desire to lead a team.
As this may well be your first team management role we are looking for someone to show that they have the ability to motivate people around them and have a real desire to develop their career.
The company delivers projects on a variety of platforms so you will need to have a good understanding of common industry platforms such as Java, Spring and Hibernate.
You will be happy being in front of clients and will enjoy the opportunity to work closely with them to scope, design and deliver on a number of exciting projects.
You will have broad experience within a bespoke development environment using Agile and Waterfall methodologies where appropriate and will be looking to work within a small dynamic company environment.
