A new opportunity has become available for a Shift Leader to join a small residential home for the elderly in Southport. You will join a team who are committed to enhancing the lives and wellbeing of the residents within their care. If this sounds of interest, apply on line today.
The job of Shift Leader will be to oversee the team of night staff and assist with hands on care and medications. You will play a fundamental part in ensuring the shifts run smoothly and any absences due to sickness or holidays are covered accordingly. The role will be working 3 night shifts on a 2 week rolling rota, please be aware that weekend work will be required. You will form part of the on call rota and will be on call one weekend out of four, additional pay is given for on call. Other duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
- Ensure delivery of the highest standards of care and support by both yourself and your team
- Working closely with the residents to ensure they are comfortable and well cared for
- Ensuring shifts run smoothly and working closely with other members of the team and managers
- Collate reports when required
Previous experience of working with the elderly in a similar environment is essential; you must also have experience of medication administration. You will ideally have experience of working within a supervisory capacity in a residential home setting. You will need to hold a minimum QCF/NVQ Level 3 qualification and have a thorough understanding of CQC regulations.
