As a result of recent expansion, an established external refurbishment contractor seeks to recruit a Project Manager to manage projects across the South East.
Your role as a Site Manager sees you tasked with managing approximately 8 projects at any one time across the south east with responsibility for ensuring each project is completed on time and within budget.
You will find the role has aspects that require you to be very ’hands on’ – site surveys, method statements, tool box talks, site visits etc. However there is also a strategic element to the role covering issues such as manpower planning (usually involving subcontracted fitters), complete project management, progress reviews and a general involvement in the operational side of the business.
The successful candidate will have experience as a Site Manager – ideally from within the external refurbishment construction sector although consideration will be given to those from other areas of construction including internal refurbishment.
You must have the site management experience and a proven track record of bringing construction projects in on time and at least on budget, if not under it.
It is vital that you understand how to control and develop relationships with the subcontractor team whilst understanding that the profitability of your employer remains your paramount concern.
They are a building envelope contractor who also provide industrial roofing and cladding services on behalf of a variety of clients across the South East of the UK.
They are able to act as principle contractor or as subcontractor on construction refurbishment projects typically up to half a million pounds in value.
