This is a new and unique opportunity for an experienced database developer to join a well-funded and highly innovative software company based in Leicester. Within a group looking to fully unleash the potential of AI and Cloud to further worker safety for many years to come

Part of a Canadian Group of companies, they are the only company in their space that do what they do within IoT and associated SaaS software and are looking for bright, committed and above all innovative individual to help them create their future environment in line with the company vision.

As part of a small team located in the UK, you will work to create world leading software with fully documented information and proof of work test tools. Delivered to our large customers around the world in markets such as oil & gas, construction, utilities, and warehousing. Customers include companies such as BP and Rio Tinto.

As part of our team the Software Team Leader will help provide safety to workers in a wide range of environments.

Responsibilities and Capabilities:

  • Work alone and collaborate with your team in designing “best in class” software deliverables.
  • Document requirements provide support and plan out.
  • Develop scripts and test tools to support your work.
  • Work with other team members to solve problems in both a planned and “ad-hoc” manner.
  • Work in collaboration with internal and external developers to integrate services to get our products to market.
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders and ensure they are informed on roadblocks or limitations.

Experience: You will have experience in:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience in web software stacks.
  • Hands on AWS platform development experience.
  • Background in software development, ideally SaaS, IoT.
  • Solid problem-solving aptitude; use and encourage creative thinking skills.
  • Experience in product planning and lifecycle management.
  • Experience of working within an Agile environment.
  • Excellent communicator – able to communicate successfully both with business stakeholders as well as developers, to identify and understand business requirements and translate them into well-specified requirements.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps, testing frameworks and Git.
