We are looking to recruit a talented Mid – Level Software Developer (LAMP Stack) to join an award winning FinTech business based in Birmingham City Centre. You will have the opportunity to join one of the fastest growing tech companies in the midland’s region. You will be responsible for adding value and continuous innovation in the development team to enable continued growth. To be considered for this role you will need to have at least 3-4 years of commercial experience in a Software Development role using the PHP and Laravel stack.

You will be joining an existing team of 8 developers in a thriving Fin-Tech Birmingham based business. You will need to be passionate about web development and have lots of team spirit, an open and pragmatic approach to work is welcomed in this business. The role will be open ended and varied with plenty of very exciting new projects as the business evolves into greater success.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Passionate about modern software engineering best practices
  • Knowledge of OO PHP and Laravel Framework
  • Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Knowledge of relational databases
  • Previous experience developing RESTful web services and both client / server-side components
  • Experience with Version Control – Git, SVN, Mercurial
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles
  • Experience with cloud hosting, AWS
  • Experience with unit testing, eg PHPUnit
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate within all levels of a business
  • Good problem solver with a passion for using the latest technologies
  • Team player, friendly, approachable with a flexible attitude
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and question information received
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting deadlines
