Job Title: Software Development Team Manager

Salary : £40,000 – £50,000
The Role:
In the Software Development Team Leader role you’ll be primarily responsible for people management. You will not require technical/coding skills but does require experience of software engineering patterns and practices. This gives you a great opportunity to learn more about the development side.
You will be leading a team of around 8-15 people in a forward-thinking software development company. You will have the chance to manage the different characters and personalities who are knowledgeable within software development.
In the job you’ll be tasked with:
– Building up the team to suit your management style
– Work with and develop your team by sitting 1-to-1s, appraisal meetings, and personal development reviews
– Motivation and encouragement to get the most out of your team
– Project/resource management
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this Software Development Team Leader role will have relevant experience of leadership.
In addition, it’s essential that you possess:
– Excellent leadership skills
– Proven experience managing a successful software development team and project
– Familiarity with both waterfall and lean (Agile/Kanban) methodologies
You’ll also need experience of:
– Good commercial awareness
– Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills
– Strong client, project sponsor and stakeholder relationship skills.
You could be perfect for this opportunity if you have previously worked as Software Development Team Lead, having managed a small team.
The Package:
Basic salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum depending on experience
