We’re looking for a talented Sous Chef to work for our client in Oxford. You would be joining a leading catering and hospitality company, working with a team of chefs, nutritionists and people pleasers with a shared passion for food that fuels emotional positivity as well as physical wellbeing.

Please note: This is a permanent role, 30 hours per week with potential of overtime (paid or time in lieu). Shift pattern is 5 over 7, as required by the business.


The Role
As Sous Chef on site at Oxford Brookes University you would assist the Head Chef in the organisation and management of the kitchen and kitchen brigade, deputising in the absence of the Head Chef. You would be responsible for the provision of locally sourced quality seasonal food in a contemporary style in line with the company brand whilst maintaining all standards of quality, food hygiene and health and safety. You would be expected to contribute to the achievement of all budgetary targets and provide high standards of customer service.


The Candidate
You will have experience working within a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment. Chef de Parties and Junior Sous Chefs will be considered. You will be able to demonstrate excellent kitchen management skills, up to date knowledge of local food trends and culinary techniques and must be proud and passionate about the dishes and plates that you create. You will be a reliable individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work under pressure and cohesively as part of a high functioning team.


The Package
Basic salary £27,000 – £30,000 dependent on experience.
