Job Title: SQL Server DBA
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000
We are recruiting for an established international software house that provides business software solutions to SME’s through to enterprise sized businesses around the world. The company operates in various countries including the UK, France, Spain, Dubai, China, South Africa and USA. As a result of continued success, the client is looking to grow its team and is looking to recruit a SQL Server Database Administrator. Based from the company’s UK head office in the West Midlands, you will be providing support to the company’s clients, helping with performance, integrity and security of their databases both on the premises and in the cloud. You will be involved with deployment planning and implementation of the database for new customers as well as supporting any technical issues. You will monitor database schedules; using SSIS you check progress and fault find, correcting faults where necessary and re-running processes so customers can use the software. You will monitor performance of the customer’s databases, this will include analysing performance related matters, and will have good knowledge of Advanced SQL. You will also improve and maintain SSIS packages and possibly be involved in some SQL coding. You will monitor backups of databases and ensure proper DR procedures are in place. You will also liaise with cloud partners to ensure that the hosted hardware platforms are performing optimally. You will be supporting customers not only in the UK but potentially other countries including France, Dubai, Spain and Germany.
You will ideally have a minimum of two to five years’ experience in a similar role. You will also have a qualification based on SQL Server 2008R2 or equivalent. As well as this you will have knowledge of CITRIX, Remote Desktop, firewalls, TCP/IP, Networking, and Routing as all of these elements will be part of the fault-finding process. You will also be responsible for the definition of server specifications.
Located in the West Midlands, it is an easy commutable distance from Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Henley-in-Arden and Sutton Coldfield.
It is likely that you will already be working as a: SQL DBA, SQL Server DBA, Database Administrator or even a SQL Developer.
